5 questions for Laura Houtman

Laura started her internship at Touch in 2021 in the Promotions department. She has been working with us as a Junior Marketeer since the beginning of 2022.

“I am proud of the team page I have set up. It’s great to see my idea being used so much.”

1. How do you start your working day?

I take the bus pretty early and prefer to start my day at the office a little earlier so I can get to work before the phone rings. I get myself and the colleagues who are already there a cup of tea and start with my email. What came in? I use this to make a to-do list. I then finish the things with the most important priority first.

2. What are your activities on a day?

My work is very diverse. For example, I analyze newsletters and send them to the team in an insightful manner. In addition, in consultation with the content manager and the marketing manager, I make an annual plan for our own platforms or I make a product sheet to attract new customers. I also contribute ideas about the website or write blogs for it. Check and write completed cases to present them to potential customers in the future, is also something I do. Just as good as occasionally replenishing outings or products on our platforms. So it really is anything and everything!

3. Which project or final product to which you contributed makes you proud?

I am most proud of the team page I have set up. I conceived and executed the idea of the ‘Five questions to…’ from start to finish. Among other things, I asked my colleagues to tell us about their working day. In the end, everyone’s story was published on the website. I managed to realize this together with the whole team. Every week a staff member with his own qualities and tasks is featured on the social media channels. It is very nice to see that my idea was received so enthusiastically and that it is widely used. I am also proud and happy that I was allowed to continue working immediately after my internship.

4. What makes your job so enjoyable?

The nice thing about this position is that I do all kinds of different things. From marketing to content management. That keeps it varied and fun to get back to work again and again. In addition, I find the team very pleasant. Work is of course the most important, but this is alternated with a lot of fun. This creates a very nice atmosphere.
