5 questions for Dennis van der Ent

Dennis works at Touch since 2018 and is our Marketing Director.

“The development from idea to concept to roll-out is what makes what we do so immensely fun.”

1. How do you start your working day?
Mornings generally start early. At 06:15 the alarm clock rings. Good morning! Then I grab my running clothes from the closet and go for a nice run. Around 08:15 I get into the car and Radio 2 sounds through the speakers: ready for a new day. Arriving at work, I deal with my mail first and then get to work on what’s planned for the week.
2. What are your activities on a day?
With our team, we are responsible for all marketing communication-related matters. These activities are very varied. I deal with the development of a tailormade voucher, the elaboration of a new cards concept, a sales presentation or advertisement to a strategic communication plan for a client. Nothing is too crazy, bring it on!
3. Which project or final product to which you contributed makes you proud?
It’s hard to say because I’m proud of everything. Even the very small things that no one often sees can cause very proud feelings. The corona year was a special year. With the company, we have been more resilient than ever. We showed how flexible and creative you can be under high pressure. A good example of this was the development of various gift cards that we put on the market together with the Nationale Postcode Loterij, but the Home Voordeelkaart initiative was also a bull’s-eye.
4. What makes your job so enjoyable?
We are often at the start of the development of a new product or service or enter into a new collaboration with the client. The development from idea to concept to the final production roll-out is what makes what we do so immensely fun. In short: the process. As is often said, it is not the final destination that is beautiful, but the route you take to get where you want to be. Of course, it is then extra nice if the final destination meets expectations.
