1. How do you start your working day?
I start the day early! At 6.30 the alarm goes off and then quickly to the gym. At 7.00, the Workout of the Day starts. Then freshen up and take the car to the office. First a cup of coffee and a chat with colleagues and then I prepare my appointments for the day.
2. What are your activities on a day?
My days are very varied. One day a week I am at our office in Rotterdam, the rest of the week I am at the office in Soest. That is also where our warehouse is located. Or I am on the road to a customer or supplier. During the day, I deal with the teams responsible for purchasing our articles, customer service, warehouse operations and IT improvements. Issues on my plate are often new, need improvement or are even an acute problem. That means I have to act sharply, quickly and creatively. And that is when I am at my best.
3. Which project or final product to which you contributed makes you proud?
The merger between Touch and Sparco. They were really two different companies, each with its own culture. By building a bridge between the teams and by improving the processes, it is now one entity and we move mountains of work with a fairly small team.
4. What makes your job so fun/special? What do you get the most satisfaction from?
Loyalty Marketing is my passion. I get satisfaction from the growth of our programmes and the effect we have on our customers’ business. And no day is the same: I have a lot of contact with colleagues, customers and suppliers. In addition, it gives me great satisfaction to shape Touch’s future and growth together with my immediate colleagues.
