1. How do you start your working day?
Up early! I am often one of the first to start work. During my train journey to work, I let my thoughts wander: which tasks do I want to tackle and what really needs to be done today? Once at the office, I greet the other early birds, grab a cup of coffee and get straight to work. That way, I am already fully in the flow before the day really gets going.
2. What are your activities on a day?
As a Business Controller, I support and advise management with valuable financial insights. It is very diverse, ranging from drawing up the Sales & Cost budget and financial reports to optimising processes. My role goes beyond simply reporting figures; I perform ad hoc and in-depth analyses, identify opportunities and risks, and use these insights to support and reinforce strategic decisions.
3. Which project or final product to which you contributed makes you proud?
I am proud of automating reports and setting up dashboards that provide real-time insight into performance. This saves us a lot of time and makes the information more reliable and immediately available to the right teams.
4. What makes your job so enjoyable?
That I really add value by providing insights that departments and stakeholders can immediately put to use. As a Business Controller, you are at the heart of the organisation: you learn a lot, bring different lines together and help colleagues free up more time for the core of their work.
